Zillow Rentals returned to NAA in 2022, and leaned into a concept pitched by our agency called The Zillow Rentals Retreat. Our 40’ x 50’ booth recycled structural pieces from previous events, but reimagined into a new layout by our production company Skyline. Once the footprint was finalized, I designed all the graphics for printing on stretch fabric to re-skin the structures. In addition to doing layout for the large scale, print-ready files, I also apply the graphics I design to the 3D renderings provided to us from Skyline in Photoshop. This step allows for easy visualization of the booth design when we show these ideas to stakeholders in order to get their approval.

The problem: to lean more into the “retreat” concept, but not leaving the walls too sterile or plain. To attract new partners, and impress our existing partners with a fun booth and reassurance that Zillow is a savvy top company in the industry.

The solution: I added the Zillow blue brand back in subtle ways, anchoring it to the top and bottom of the structures so the conference attendee could see the branding from afar (top) and when close to the booth. Adding blue to a few key pieces (the welcome booth, the smoothie bar) also added branding back in subtle ways. Having the logo as large as possible at the top helped with visibility all the way from across the conference hall.

International Builders Show (IBS) Booth - 2022

Floor plan design:
Manifold
Production: Skyline Exhibits

When Zillow participates in other events like tradeshows or conferences, we work with our production company to reuse existing booth assets. What happens next is either Manifold or Skyline (or both in this case) take a look at our booth asset inventory, and they create a booth footprint design with existing pieces. Once that is finalized, I receive the measurements and I design what the booth will look like.

In this particular design, we were representing our New Construction line of business at a show, and so I wanted to lean into blue prints which is a design element we use often for New Con and has proven to be really successful and liked by our New Construction Zillow reps who attend the event. I downloaded a stock vector of an isometric blue print to use as a starting point and re-drew some of it to fit our booth design.

Find Your Sweet Spot was a Zillow Rentals activation that unfortunately never got built out because Covid-19 cancelled the entire event. But the activation concept was created by our vendor INVNT, and I designed all the graphics for the booth. The idea was that attendees would combine the statements – which were printed on magnets – from the left and right to create statements about wins or solutions they value in their role as Rental Managers. The idea was then for the Zillow reps to start a conversation on how Zillow can play a key role in making those wins happen more often with our partnership and products.

Zillow was also planning on advertising on vinyl column clings through out the conference hall which I designed as well.

NAA “Zillow in the Park” - 2019

Floor plan design and production:
Manifold

Zillow in the Park was our big activation at NAA in 2019. Our events team rented out a parking lot near the convention center where NAA was being hosted, and create a park with food, drinks, music and a puppy playpen. We worked with our amazing vendor Manifold to design the space and different activations, and I added Zillow branding to the fence graphics and other signage.

I also designed and built the landing page advertising our park on the event platform Splash, and designed and built the emails and other social media graphics for the event. We also designed custom bandanas for the pups in our puppy playpen (see image below) who were there for cuddles and to be adopted.

Designed the fence wrap to be repeating two panels to form a seamless hill scene wrapping around the entire park.
